Privacy Policy

Race Cockpit (“Race Cockpit”, “we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, and the choices you have when using the Race Cockpit mobile application and related services (“Service”).

1) Quick summary

No ads. We do not run third-party advertising in the app.
No tracking. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Guest mode available. Creating an account is optional.
Offline capable. You can use core features without an Internet connection.
In-App Purchases. Paid features are handled via Apple In-App Purchase (we do not receive your card details).
Cloud sync (optional). If you sign in, we use Firebase (Google) to authenticate and synchronize your data.

2) Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide (optional)

Account information: if you create an account, we collect your email address and an internal user identifier (UID).
Support messages: if you contact us, we collect the information you choose to share (message content and contact details).
Session metadata: session name, notes, selected track, and configuration you save in the app.

2.2 Telemetry and sensor data (during sessions)

When you start a driving session, Race Cockpit may collect telemetry data to provide the core functionality of the app:

Location (GPS): position points used to compute laps, sectors, track mapping and performance metrics.
Motion / device sensors: acceleration / motion signals when available on the device.
Performance metrics: speed, lap time, sector time, deltas, and derived statistics.

This telemetry is used for motorsport performance analysis only. It is not used for advertising and is not used to track you across apps or websites.

2.3 Automatically collected technical data

We may collect basic technical information necessary to operate the Service, such as:

Device and OS information (e.g., iPhone model, iOS version)
App version and basic diagnostics

Note: We do not currently use third-party analytics for usage tracking (e.g., Firebase Analytics). We may add analytics in the future; if we do, we will update this policy.

3) How we use your information

Provide app features (timing, dashboards, session history, exports)
Enable optional account features (sign-in, restore access, and sync when enabled)
Store sessions locally (offline) and, if you sign in, synchronize selected data using Firebase
Improve stability, security, and performance
Respond to support requests

4) Guest mode and offline mode

You can use Race Cockpit in guest mode without creating an account. The app also supports offline usage:

Sessions can be recorded and viewed without network connectivity.
Some features (such as account sync, restoring purchases, or cloud-backed history) may require an Internet connection.
If you later choose to sign in, some data may be synchronized depending on the features you use.

5) In-App Purchases

Race Cockpit offers paid features via Apple In-App Purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Apple may provide us with non-sensitive purchase information (e.g., subscription status) to unlock features.

6) Data storage and service providers

Race Cockpit uses trusted service providers to operate the Service. In particular, if you create an account and enable cloud features, we use Firebase (a Google service) for authentication and data storage/synchronization.

Firebase Authentication: to sign in and manage your account (email + UID).
Cloud database (Firestore): to store and synchronize your user data (e.g., sessions and related metadata) when cloud sync is enabled.

Data may be processed and stored on infrastructure operated by Google (Firebase / Google Cloud). We only use these services for operating the app, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

7) Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following cases:

Service providers: when strictly necessary to operate the Service (e.g., Firebase for authentication and cloud sync when enabled).
Legal obligations: if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
Safety and security: to protect users, prevent fraud/abuse, or enforce our terms.

8) Tracking and advertising

We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
We do not use third-party trackers to track you across apps and websites.

9) Data retention

We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security, dispute resolution), unless a longer retention period is required by law.

If you use guest mode, data may remain stored locally on your device until you delete the app or delete your sessions. If you use an account, cloud data can be deleted upon request.

10) Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can also limit collection by using guest mode and by managing iOS permissions (e.g., Location).

You can request account deletion and deletion of associated cloud data by contacting: contact@racecockpit.com

Please include the email address used in the app (if any) and your request (“delete my account/data”). We may ask for minimal information to verify you control the account before deleting data.

12) Children’s privacy

Race Cockpit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13) Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
